Main Objectives
The post holder is required to perform all routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on all the current and future fleet in accordance with the aircraft approved maintenance schedule and documentation, strictly adhering to authority rules and regulations. They will support the recovery of AOG situations and maintain Company and third-party aircraft using approved methods and procedures.
Main Duties
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on Company fleets and third-party aircraft as per BCAA Regulations and Company Requirements. Supervise assigned Technicians while performing their duties. Certify all work performed.
- Obtain company certification authorization to qualify for certifying routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on company fleets within the scope of company approval.
- Obtain the required certification authorization to certify work performed on third-party aircraft.
- Perform duties at short notice to accompany aircraft for routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
- Perform any operationally necessary tasks to maintain the fleet in an airworthy condition.
- Attend training as per company requirements and sit company technical boards for obtaining Aircraft Type Certification.
- Perform technical representation at facilities outside the home base when required by the company.
- Maintain self-read and write continuation training.
- Travel when required for the recovery of aircraft during an AOG situation.
- Strictly adhere to company staff and safety rules and regulations.
- Comply with aircraft approved maintenance documents when performing all maintenance tasks and be aware of all safety-related precautions to avoid personal injuries or damages to aircraft structures and systems.
- Ensure tools and equipment used for aircraft maintenance are serviceable and safe at all times. Report any faulty tools or equipment to the Duty Manager.
- Identify and isolate unserviceable tools / equipment and attach them with an unserviceable tag.
- Ensure all tools used are registered for removal upon task completion.
- Adhere to Airside safety rules and regulations regarding driving and work areas.
- Follow the Company policy and procedures as laid down in the Technical Publications (e.g., TIM, MOE).
- Maintain a high level of self-discipline and respect towards superiors' instructions.
- Receive training to perform specialized tasks like boroscope on company fleet engines, structure assessment / repair, and others when operationally required.
- Deputize for the Duty Manager during absence due to vacation, sickness, or training when necessary.
- Check all tools, including mechanics' toolboxes, before and after each task carried out on the aircraft. The CRS must be signed only when all tools are accounted for.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years experience in aviation maintenance and 3-5 years as a fully qualified certifying engineer.
Qualifications
Holder of a valid AME license recognized by BCAA and Gulf Air QA, endorsed with Type rating on two of the company aircraft. Must be computer literate and fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Must have completed a recognized aircraft engineers apprenticeship / formal training.
