To lead BAS Development Company (BDC) in achieving sustainable growth and operational excellence through strategic leadership, financial management, and the expansion of manpower and labor contracting services. The General Manager shall be responsible for ensuring BDC’s alignment with BAS’s overall commercial direction, optimizing profitability, and positioning BDC as a competitive and compliant service provider in both local and regional markets.
Main Duties
- Formulates and implements long‑term strategic and business plans aligned with BAS’s commercial objectives to ensure BDC’s sustainable growth and competitiveness.
- Oversees financial planning, budgeting, and resource utilization to optimize profitability and cost efficiency while maintaining service quality and compliance with internal and statutory requirements.
- Identifies and develops new business opportunities in manpower outsourcing, labor contracting, and facility support services to enhance BDC’s market share and revenue streams.
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships with clients, government entities, and industry stakeholders to ensure service excellence, long‑term contracts, and market credibility.
- Establishes robust operational controls, governance frameworks, and compliance mechanisms to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to BAS policies and local labor regulations.
- Ensures the right organizational structure, talent development, and performance management systems are in place to support BDC’s operational demands and strategic objectives.
- Introduces process improvement initiatives and digital solutions to enhance productivity, monitoring, and reporting across all manpower deployment and labor operations.
- Provides regular performance and business reports to the CEO and CCO, recommending strategies and corrective actions to ensure BDC’s alignment with BAS’s overall commercial and financial direction.
- Comply with Company’s and airport authorities’ health, safety & security requirements.
- Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in business management / administration or other related fields, or an equivalent amount of working experience.Experience :
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a leadership role with 7‑8 years’ experience in strategy and business development.Other Essential Requirements :
Strong commercial acumen and strategic foresight.Proven leadership in business turnaround or expansion initiatives.Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and complex operations.Strong understanding of Bahrain’s labor market and regulatory environment.Seniority level
