The Category Manager at Ninja will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive sales and profitability across assigned product categories. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to effectively manage product assortments, pricing, and promotional activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement comprehensive category plans that align with overall business objectives and financial targets.
- Analyze category performance data, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and procurement to optimize product assortments and ensure effective merchandising.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and availability.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt category strategies as needed.
- Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns that drive consumer engagement and category growth.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Conduct regular reviews of category performance and adjust strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
- Train and mentor junior team members in category management best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.5+ years of experience in category management or related roles within retail or e-commerce.Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful category strategies.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing supplier relationships.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to present insights and recommendations effectively.Knowledge of the grocery or FMCG industry is a plus.
