Field IT Support Engineer (Dispatch / On‑need Basis) – Manama
SkySys is seeking a Field IT Support Engineer to provide on‑site, dispatch‑based support for our client sites in Manama. The role involves responding to tickets with at least 24‑hour notice and performing on‑site troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to support tickets and travel to client sites as scheduled.
- Provide desktop / end‑user support including hardware, software, and operating system troubleshooting.
- Perform smart‑hands\ / feet and data‑center support across peripheral and networking hardware (monitors, keyboards, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, cabinets, etc.).
- Assist with remote support while on‑site, using a personal laptop to connect to the support team.
- Diagnose and fix hardware and network issues using TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP protocols.
- Handle end‑user network cabling problems and perform repeat‑call analysis to develop preventive actions.
- Participate in problem management activities and maintain accurate ticket documentation in ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a proactive, urgent, and customer‑focused approach to all assignments.
Required Technical Skills
2–3 years of strong IT infrastructure field support experience.Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and printer hardware; PC break / fix; Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.Basic knowledge of enterprise LAN / WAN concepts and smart‑hand support.Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and peripheral devices.Hands‑on experience with TCP / IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.Proficiency with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.Certifications & Education
Associate Degree in Electronics or related field.CompTIA A+ certification (required).Vendor certifications (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, etc.) are a plus.Soft Skills & Qualifications
