Overview

The Roads & Transportation Engineer will oversee the design and implementation of road networks and utility systems, including the integration and relocation of underground and overhead utilities (water, drainage, electricity, telecommunications, and gas). The role requires strong technical and project management skills to ensure seamless coordination between design, construction, and regulatory teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and manage the construction of roads, highways, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate the integration and relocation of utility networks within road construction projects.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and utility layouts for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and utility authorities to resolve technical and site-related issues.
  • Monitor site works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation.
  • Support tendering, estimation, and planning teams with technical inputs and quantity verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international engineering codes, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering License or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in road works, utilities coordination, or infrastructure projects .
  • Proven experience in highway and transportation engineering .
  • Strong technical knowledge of road construction, materials, and design standards .
  • Excellent understanding of utility systems design and coordination .
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD , Civil 3D , and related engineering software.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
