WINE MANAGER - BAHRAIN
We have been retained by a well established Retailer and Distributor of alcoholic beverages in Bahrain thatare looking to strengthen their team by adding a Wine Manager. The Wine Manager will be responsible for overseeing the wine section of the beverages, ensuring that the selection of products maximizes profitability and sales for the company. This role involves fulfilling the commercial needs of trade customers while keeping consumers engaged through the introduction of regular new product offerings. The Wine Manager will work to establish the brand as the market leader in curated alcohol selections by developing a diverse and innovative portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen, an extensive knowledge of wines, and the skills to engage and educate both staff and customers on wine offerings.

Roles & Responsibilities included but not limited to :
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of wines :
- Prepare and analyze monthly depletion reports to track wine sales and inventory levels
- Assess new product performance with detailed reports to inform decision making
- Conduct weekly trend analysis to identify sales patterns and consumer preferences
- Generate additional reports as needed to support business objectives
- Regularly analyze data to refine strategies and improve portfolio management
- Identify and source new products in line with international trends and customer requests, assessing their sustainability for the portfolio
- Request pricing information for potential new listings.
- Present new products for consideration and potential listing within the portfolio.
- Advice on product orders based on market demand and sales performance.
- Maintain correspondence with suppliers to obtain product information and ensure effective communication.
- Collaborate with Heads of Departments (HODs) to integrate the wine portfolio into their respective activities and initiatives.
- Contribute to pricing strategies for wine products, ensuring competitive and profitable price points.
- Monitor portfolio price points, identifying and reporting any pricing issues.
- Advise on delisting decisions for underperforming products and managing strategies for overstocked items.
- Focus on slow-moving wines, implementing strategies for increased sales or delisting as necessary.
- Advise on wine-related issues in the on-trade sector, including developing comprehensive wine lists and facilitating wine education initiatives.
- Organize and lead wine events and tastings to enhance customer engagement and brand loyalty.
- Lead both on-trade and off-trade activities, ensuring visibility and accessibility of the wine portfolio.
- Play a leading role in events, promoting the wine offerings and creating unique customer experiences.
- Provide regular wine training sessions for all sales and retail staff to enhance their product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Ensure the role remains customer-facing, engaging with clients to address inquiries and enhance their experience.
- Continually develop and refine the wine portfolio to align with market trends and customer preferences
- Actively participate in the implementation of the wine retail merchandising template to maximize sales opportunities.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required by the business
Ideal candidate :
