Overview

Location : Bahrain, Sakhir | Full-time, Onsite

Language Requirement : Fluent in French & proficient in English

Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Reporting : Maintain accurate books for the Belgian entity in compliance with Belgian GAAP and group reporting requirements. Post journal entries, manage accruals, and perform monthly reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets). Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Statutory & Tax Compliance : Prepare and file Belgian VAT returns, Intrastat, and other required statutory filings. Liaise with Belgian auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities to ensure compliance.
  • Accounts Receivable & Payable : Oversee customer collections and timely posting of payments. Review and process vendor invoices and payment runs, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement : Maintain strong internal controls, including segregation of duties. Recommend and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally with Belgian GAAP exposure
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian VAT and statutory compliance requirements
  • ERP experience (NetSuite or equivalent preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset
  • Excellent communication skills in French (native / fluent) and good command of English
  • Willingness to work onsite in Bahrain and coordinate with Belgian stakeholders
