Job Objective
Set implementation tactics to execute the department Strategy, in addition to the Operations and Maintenance of the Core, Applications & Services Networks by providing the direction and ensuring the adequate execution required for successfully meeting the organizational needs and objectives within requisite timelines, budget and as per desired Telecom standards. Lead Core Network teams for the development, upkeep, continual review, analysis and oversight of Network performance. Generate reports for Core Network to ensure comprehensive service reliability and Quality.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic
- Work closely with department head to collect information and identify strategic initiatives for the Network Core, Services & applications and contribute to the overall strategic
- Lead execution of strategic initiatives
- Translate strategic initiatives into tactical initiatives to achieve strategic objectives
- Monitor, track and report performance against tactical initiatives and set KPIs
Financial
Plan the section Opex / Capex while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainabilityMonitor and track adherence to the approved budget and highlight deviationsStrive to continually improve the network and service operation cost as per strategic imperativesOperational
Derive implications from network strategy and develop the Core Network strategy for the organization in alignment with long term and short-term business needs and prioritiesEnsure that setup and design of the core network architecture, blueprint and fundamental technical guidelines are continually improved and updated, as to evolve the services to exceed customer’s expectationImplement traffic planning, review analysis of traffic data to identify trends and improvement opportunities and propose core network enhancement plansEnsure monitor execution of orders related to government compliance for core networksImplement Preventive maintenance and adherence to preventive maintenance schedule and service platformsMonitor fault handling and escalations on the core network alarms and ensure fault resolution is maintained within the KPIs.Monitor adherence to procedures and controls at section levelEnsure effective vendor management for the delivery of efficient support and services to the network, ensure adherence to contract obligations and conflict resolutionEnsure the cross-unit alignment with peers in IT, Products, Cyber Security, Global, Finance, Legal, Procurement and Wholesale in addition to the intra departmental alignment with Development, Radio and Network Management Centre.Develop and Deliver in house solutions / products where applicable to Enterprise and Consumer units.Identify continuous improvement measures and opportunities and redesign policies, processes, systems / structural programs and procedures for continuous improvement, covering all individual functional activitiesIdentify network risks, develop mitigation plans and ensure timely implementation of the plans to ensure seamless operationsMaintain department business continuity process (DPCP)Closely monitor, manage and assure the overall Network Quality that includes regular generation of overall network performance, operational, audit, quality and regulatory reports to maintain world class network quality standard.Actively participate in the Joint Evaluation Committees (JEC) meetings to manage tender evaluation process and ensure the best offers with the maximum benefits to Batelco are always selectedActively provide required information to internal and external auditorsSetting business plan and annual budget and closely monitor all financial operations.Present Network Performance, Major highlights and KPIs for CE and top managementEnsure the accuracy and continuity of updating the centralized Data Bases and the Network InventoryPeople
