Overview
The Tele-sales Representative handles outbound telemarketing activities and sales support to generate leads and close sales by phone. The role involves calling prospects, persuading customers, and deriving referrals through lead generation activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers by selling products via telephone.
- Contact individuals by telephone to solicit sales for goods or services.
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Conduct client or market surveys, and type detailed notes regarding sale or service offered.
- Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services, to persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service.
- Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.
- Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders in the company’s system.
- Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into computers.
- Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as referrals, cold calling, and other lawful means.
- Assist and support the line manager by taking tasks assigned by them when necessary.

Minimum of high school certificationDiploma and some work experience preferredStrong communication skillsGood selling skillsPositive energy and teamwork ethosExcellent written and oral communication skillsGood understanding of the servicesHighly computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office productsAbility to persuade others to change their minds or behaviorAbility to give full attention to what others are saying and actively look for ways to helpKey Performance Indicators
To achieve the daily and monthly sales KPIs as set by management. Monthly results should meet targets in terms of premium and commission income, subject to annual review.
Compensation and incentives
Commissions or incentives to be agreed. Commission is payable only if all KPIs are achieved.
