Job Title : Senior Project Manager (SPM) – Civil Infrastructure
Location : Hybrid work model (MEA region). The SPM is a member of the Civil Infrastructure business and provides technical leadership and management for project design delivery, including team management. The role collaborates with peers, Project Managers, Project Directors, and the Civil Infrastructure Director of MEA to deliver projects.
Responsibilities
- The SPM leads the project team to complete design work in accordance with budget, quality, and timelines for the client.
- Take full responsibility for project delivery and integrate elements of project management across the project life cycle.
- Identify and exploit opportunities throughout the project life cycle.
- Manage contracts, identify and address changes proactively.
- Build and develop client relationships; seek opportunities for repeat business and new opportunities; receive and act upon client feedback.
- Act as a mentor / leader for junior staff.
- Demonstrate competence with all relevant AECOM systems and processes.
- Lead business development activities including proposal preparation, interviews, presentations, and networking events.
- Champion AECOM safety initiatives and advocate the safety-for-life program and lifeguard principles.
- Prepare contracts, service agreements, partnerships, submissions, and funding arrangements.
- Coordinate with discipline leaders across business lines to support collaboration and integrated delivery.
- Attend and lead client briefings, planning and design workshops; present project stages and work to the client.
- Work closely with clients, sub-contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products in a timely manner; manage relationships with the client and local authorities.
- Review project plans with the client; resolve conflicts in design or in project parameters.
- Ensure budget and timeframes are met; ensure accuracy and quality within project scope and client requirements.
- Manage presentation and report development; play a key role in client management and satisfaction.
- Meet with and report to a Project Director / Director on progress and deliverables.
- Issue invoices and resolve overdue payments in consultation with Finance and per AECOM standards.
- Implement and use AECOM’s QA system; maintain and refine in-house standards, procedures, and policy.
- Lead marketing efforts to current clients and identify new clients.
- Delegate project aspects to team members (e.g., Assistant PMs, Project Control Specialists) and monitor delivery for quality and timeliness.
- Participate in regional and firm-wide committees, forums, and practice networks as required.
Qualifications
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering; PMP certification preferred.Chartered Civil Engineer with ICE UK considered favorably.Specific Skills Required
Proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects worldwide and in the Middle East.Flexible and broad experience across design, planning, and delivery of major projects.Extensive experience managing major multi-disciplinary projects from proposal development to completion, including periodic reviews.Proven ability to manage a team and multi-disciplinary project teams.Strong client management, financial, and budget management skills.Proven track record in securing new work and maintaining contracts.Experience with tier 1 professional services consultancies preferred.Experience in the Middle East highly regarded.Strong attention to detail.Experience
15+ years construction experience.5–7 years in a lead role delivering major projects.Proven experience managing a team and multi-disciplinary project teams.Experience in infrastructure projects mandatory.Experience in the Middle East and / or Bahrain region favored.Additional Information
