JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to provide expert opinion on various health and safety matters related to the work environment within BAC's premises and BIA, ensuring safety for all staff and passengers.

The role includes recommending measures to protect BIA's infrastructure during operations and maintenance, and performing audits and inspections of stakeholders and contractors within BIA to ensure compliance with legal, moral, and financial standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist the Head - Health & Safety and Manager - Health and Safety in developing, maintaining, and improving health and safety processes and procedures.
• Perform audits and inspections of stakeholders, contractors, and BAC facilities to ensure safety for passengers, staff, and airport users.
• Issue reports on non-conformities with rectification recommendations.
• Follow up on inspections to close outstanding issues.
• Stay informed of relevant laws and legislation to ensure BIA's compliance with industry standards and external accreditation bodies.
• Provide training to staff and management on health and safety topics such as First Aid, Confined Space, Rigging, and Lifting.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Develop policies and procedures related to health and safety to ensure safe operations.
• Manage health and safety projects to ensure successful completion.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.

Experience

At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
