Job descriptionSecondary and further level education with either academic or vocational qualifications and relevant technical and management experience. Excellent understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant legal and external regulations and requirements for the operation of passenger-carrying vehicles. Flexible approach to working hours – able to attend out-of-hours work where required to meet service delivery and vehicle audits, and to respond quickly to any “on-call” requirements. Assertive and diplomatic. Excellent people and communication skills with the ability to deal with people and problems effectively and with ease.
To assist Managers and Supervise, train, and mentor direct reports within the Engineering function to effectively inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain company vehicles and premises in line with the vehicle Manufacturer, Company, and ISO 9001 : 2000 standards.
- Conduct the following tasks on the required or relevant Company vehicles in your garage and any new vehicles your garage may acquire.
- Repair on a day-to-day basis all identified body defects in line with Manufacturer, Company, and Statutory standards.
- Assist in the preparation of all vehicles for Monthly and Annual testing.
- Repair defects and damage to all vehicles, including the use of gas, MIG / TIG welding, and gas cutting with the appropriate qualifications and training.
- Repair defects and identify vehicle types.
- Maintain documentation of all repairs performed as per documented quality procedures.
- Fault diagnosis, including the use of specialist equipment relevant to vehicles in your garage.
