Job descriptionProficiency in Tagalog and English speaking and writing; ILR Level 3 / 3; native proficiency preferred. Extensive knowledge of Tagalog culture; previous work in the region preferred. Experience interpreting and translating Tagalog into English. Understanding of standard dialect and vocabulary, minimal paraphrasing needed. Familiarity with local culture and customs. U.S. citizenship required. Security Clearance : Secret. Possession of or eligibility for the required Personnel Security Clearance (PSC). Medical and dental examinations to certify fitness for duty, vaccination as required. Sufficient hearing ability; SPRINT or equivalent testing if necessary. Ability to work under stress, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform duties in extreme conditions. Availability for irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Proper lifting techniques and PPE use. Physical ability to perform job functions, including standing, stooping, crawling, and climbing.

Valiant is seeking skilled Linguists to provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services to support ongoing and new U.S. operations and mission requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate and consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation of Tagalog into English.
- Translate various syntax and expressions, including colloquial and slang phrases, from English to Tagalog and vice versa.
- Work and travel in austere environments.
- Provide advice on the cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documents.
- Accurately scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
