Job Summary
The Paramedic Technician is responsible for providing immediate and effective emergency medical care, safe patient transfer, and clinical support within the healthcare facility and during patient transport. The role requires strong clinical judgment, quick response in high-pressure situations, and adherence to Bahrain’s healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Response & Patient Care : Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital or during patient transport; assess patients, administer first aid, oxygen, medications, and provide basic / advanced life support as appropriate; support physicians and nurses during emergency and routine procedures.
- Patient Transfer & Transport : Safely transfer and escort patients within the hospital or to external facilities; ensure all medical transport equipment is in working condition and ready for use; provide ongoing monitoring and care during patient transfers.
- Clinical & Technical Support : Record and monitor patients’ vital signs; prepare and maintain emergency equipment, stretchers, and ambulance supplies; assist in infection control practices and maintain hygiene standards during procedures.
- Documentation & Compliance : Maintain accurate and detailed medical reports on patient assessments, interventions, and transport activities; ensure compliance with hospital policies, Bahrain labour laws, and National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) requirements; uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
- Training & Development : Participate in CPR, BLS, ACLS, and other mandatory emergency response training; contribute to staff education by sharing best practices in emergency response and patient handling; stay updated with the latest medical protocols and technologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Paramedical / Emergency Medical Services or equivalent.Valid NHRA license in Bahrain.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in emergency medical services, hospital, or ambulance operations.Strong knowledge of emergency protocols, patient safety, and clinical procedures.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Physically fit to handle patient transfers and emergency duties.#J-18808-Ljbffr
