Teacher of Biology – British School of Bahrain

Role Summary

The British School of Bahrain (BSB) is committed to providing a high‑quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a selective, co‑educational, independent school with approximately 2,900 students aged 3‑18. As part of the school’s National Curriculum for England, we offer IGCSE, A‑Level and BTEC examinations. The school is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Biology to start in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire all students and align with the school’s curriculum and assessment requirements.
Differentiate learning to support each student’s progress and ensure outstanding outcomes.
Regularly assess and provide targeted feedback on students’ in‑class and at‑home learning.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages risk‑taking and collaboration.
Collaborate with colleagues as an active member of the learning community, sharing best practice and undertaking professional development.
Contribute to the school life through co‑curricular programmes, clubs, and whole‑school initiatives.
Maintain constructive communication with parents, building strong partnership for student development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

A relevant degree and PGCE or B.Ed (or equivalent) with a minimum of two years post‑qualification teaching experience.

Experience teaching biology from Key Stage 3 to 5, including up to GCSE, A‑Level, and BTEC.

Confidence in using ICT in the classroom.

Enhanced DBS disclosure (or equivalent) and commitment to child welfare.

High expectations, aspirations, and a genuine love for teaching.

Openness to learning, professional growth, and contributing to a diverse school community.
