About the role :
The Pastry Prep Cook 1 is responsible for preparing a variety of sweet items including pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fruit compotes, chocolates, and showpieces. This role ensures all items are made according to guest orders and banquet event orders, following production requirements and quality standards, while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
What you will do :
Prepare pastry items of consistent quality following recipe cards, portion, and presentation standards.
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to exceed estimated needs.
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, and waffle iron.
Date all food containers and rotate stock as per policies.
Ensure perishables are stored at proper temperatures.
Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup.
Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
Return unused food items to designated storage areas, ensuring proper covering and dating.
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost issues.
Control food waste, loss, and usage according to policies.
Collaborate with the Culinary Team on daily planning, ordering, and activities that impact guest satisfaction.
Focus on taste and consistency when producing food or pastry for guests.
