IT Architect, Digital Bank

A start-up wholesale digital bank with a “digital first” approach is looking for an IT Architect to be based in Bahrain. This new role is to be responsible for the design and architecture of the bank’s core technology stack, ensuring that all systems — internal and external — are secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant with regulatory expectations. This job is critical in translating the bank’s business, regulatory, and operational requirements into a modern cloud-native architecture, enabling digital-first and AI-first delivery from day one.

As the IT Architect, you will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer, product owners, developers, and third-party vendors to ensure that technical designs are fit-for-purpose, extensible, and aligned with long-term technology vision. This role is hands-on and strategic, playing a key part in platform design, integration planning, and management of the core system landscape.

To be eligible for this role you will need to have 8 to 12 years of experience in technology architecture, ideally within banking, fintech, or regulated financial services. Mambu Ecosystem experience is desirable.

Strong experience designing secure, scalable, cloud-native architectures using modern technologies (, microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, serverless computing), and a deep understanding of integration patterns, enterprise security, data architecture, and DevOps methodologies. Exposure to financial products (payments, custody, lending) and regulatory compliance systems is highly desirable.

You will be a Systems thinker with strong analytical and documentation skills, and be highly collaborative and comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams. A detail-oriented, delivery-focused approach is required, being innovative, and committed to building future-ready technology solutions.
