The Document Controller is responsible for establishing and maintaining an efficient, secure, and accurate system for managing all official project documents. This role ensures strict version control , proper archiving, and timely distribution of drawings, correspondence, and technical specifications across all project teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Document Management : Control the flow (receipt, issuance, distribution) of all project documentation, including engineering drawings, transmittals, reports, and correspondences.
- Filing & Indexing : Maintain and update the physical and electronic filing system (DMS), ensuring all records are accurately catalogued, indexed, and easy to retrieve.
- Version Control : Ensure the latest revision of any document is clearly identified and distributed, archiving superseded documents securely.
- Transmittals : Prepare, issue, and track document transmittals to consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
- Compliance : Ensure all documentation practices comply with company standards and project procedures.
