We are seeking a certified, hands-on accounting professional with demonstrated experience supporting SMEs across accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and regulatory compliance.
This role will :
- Shape the design of Daira's accounting product
- Manage key SME accounts and own their end-to-end financial workflows
- Ensure our platform remains aligned with local accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks in GCC
You will play a critical role at the intersection of finance, product, and client success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. SME accounting & bookkeeping
Oversee preparation and maintenance of SME clients' financial records, including general ledger, COA, and month-end closingStandardize and improve workflows for invoicing, payables / receivables, payroll, and expense trackingLead the design of accounting templates and internal standards for bookkeeping, reconciliations, and MIS reporting within the platformB. Financial reporting & local standards
Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) compliant with IFRS for SMEs and local GAAPMaintain audit-ready financial data and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirementsAdvise SMEs on cash flow, working capital, and cost optimization using sector-specific insightsC. Tax & regulatory compliance
Ensure compliance with GCC tax regimes : VAT, corporate tax, ESR, UBO, payroll and labor-related obligationsBuild tax and compliance checklists / modules to embed into SME workflowsCollaborate with the tech team to automate statutory and tax compliance processesD. Product & process development
Provide domain expertise for product design, including controls, validations, reporting logic, and UI / UX flowsConduct end-to-end testing of accounting features, identify improvements, and work with developers to refine logicSupport structuring the SME onboarding process and defining service SLAsE. Client & account management
Act as Key Account Manager for a defined portfolio of SME clientsServe as the primary point of contact to resolve accounting, compliance, and workflow issuesProactively identify opportunities to enhance client experience and strengthen Daira's value propositionElevate key client insights and strategic opportunities to Daira's leadership teamIdentify and engage with new potential customers to sell Daira's suite of servicesIDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications & technical skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldProfessional certification preferred : CPA / ACCA / CMA10 years of experience in SME accounting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance in the UAE / GCCStrong knowledge of :Accounting standards such as GAAP / IFRS for SMEs
VAT, corporate taxPayroll rules, and record-keeping regulatory requirementsFull understanding of LMRA and SIO regulatory requirements for SMEs in BahrainAccounting systems such as Odoo, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, or similarExperience designing or improving accounting workflows within digital or automated platforms (strong plus – highly preferred)Native Arabic proficiency (including accounting terminology)Soft skills
