Job Description

The Laundry Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the laundry department. He / She will ensure that all linens, uniforms, and guest laundry are cleaned, maintained, and delivered efficiently while upholding the highest standards of hygiene and quality.

• Ensure all the equipment utilized in the laundry is well set‑up and maintained, and that the related instructions and cycles are followed.
• Ensure a correct and economical use of all chemicals and that the formulas are respected.
• Ensure proper storage of the chemicals, respecting environmental procedures.
• Maintain the linen and laundry par stocks.
• Ensure laundry staff have full knowledge of all textiles and their proper care.
• Constantly check linens and uniforms for cleanliness and defects and recommend replacement if necessary.
• Maintain constant linen flow to the floors and the outlets.
• Ensure proper distribution of all articles and efficient handling of guests, managers, and employees uniforms.
• Maintain a record of consumption of all chemicals per wash and prepare monthly productivity reports.
• Ensure work areas and stores are always in a good state of maintenance and that fire hazards and safety hazards are removed.
• Ensure uncompromising levels of cleanliness and maintenance through each employee’s responsibility.
• Continuously study and evaluate the operations and procedures to increase revenue and productivity.
• Ensure proper handling of lost and found items.
• Participate in monthly inventories.
• Follow up daily check lists.
• Work closely and enthusiastically with other departments to ensure teamwork and the smooth efficient operation of the hotel.
• Manage any guest complaint in a professional manner, owning it, resolving it to the guest’s satisfaction and recording it.
• Ensure that all team members are updated with the latest administrative, organizational, operational or other changes and news.
• Conduct or attend a daily line‑up briefing with the Laundry team to recapitulate tasks and activity.
• Ensure trainings and regular “refresher” courses are conducted and attended as scheduled.
