Hi,

My name is Palak, and I am a Senior Consultant at Outsized ( We match clients to high-quality independent consultants and boutique firms for the execution of their key projects. We're working with some of the largest financial services, PE, and consulting brands globally.

Our client a Global Payments Firm is currently carrying out projects with multiple banking and financial services players in the Middle East region. To support with this our client is looking to onboard Card Portfolio Managers to join their team.

The selected individuals would be required to support with strategic development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of card products. This includes overseeing product launches, optimizing portfolio performance, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Further to this, the individuals would also be required to enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through targeted, data-informed lifecycle marketing strategies that optimize card portfolio performance and align with business objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Lead the design, pricing, and rollout of innovative debit and credit card products aligned with market needs and consumer banking strategy.
  • Analyze and monitor card portfolio performance across acquisition, activation, spend, engagement, attrition, and retention, delivering actionable insights to drive growth.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel lifecycle marketing campaigns (email, mobile, digital, direct mail).
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Risk, and Compliance teams to design and launch targeted acquisition, activation, and engagement campaigns.
  • Continuously test, measure, and optimize campaign effectiveness through A / B testing and performance analytics.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, Risk, Compliance, Legal) to ensure successful product launches, governance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Provide training, tools, and support to sales teams, enabling effective acquisition and client engagement while resolving complex product-related needs.
  • Drive delivery of large-scale programs and seamless integration with card processing systems, vendors, and switches to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Build trusted client relationships, support commercialization strategies, and identify new business opportunities to maximize profitability and customer value.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in card sales, acquisitions, and portfolio revenue (ENR, spend, and fee income).
  • Increase in activation, usage, and engagement rates across debit and credit card products.
  • Number and timeliness of successful card product launches and commercialization.
  • Reduction in credit costs, attrition, and complaints, driving profitability optimization.
  • ROI, conversion, and overall effectiveness of marketing and lifecycle campaigns.
  • Customer satisfaction scores and delivery of superior end-to-end customer experience.
  • Compliance, risk management, and audit adherence across product and campaign activities.
  • On-time and effective execution of large-scale programs and initiatives.
  • Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
  • 6+ years of proven experience in financial services, with strong exposure to cards and payments (product development, portfolio management, and cross-functional collaboration).
  • Strong understanding of card payments, processing systems, and regulatory / compliance environments.
  • Expertise in customer segmentation, personalization strategies, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management and ability to drive initiatives across Product, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and Sales.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign) and digital campaign execution.
  • Proven experience in card portfolio performance analysis
  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle marketing (Cards)
  • Experience of product launches, CVP development
  • Knowledge of cards (Debit, Credit and Prepaid) profitability and key metrics
  • These are contractual roles with a duration of 12 months, and these roles are base in GCC (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, KSA, Oman, Bahrain) region.
