About the role
We are currently looking to hire an In Room Service Order Taker who will be responsible for receive, process, and accurately input in-room dining orders, demonstrating attention to detail and a thorough understanding of guest preferences.
What you will do
Must be fully versed with the IRD Operating System(Micros, HOTSOS, Opera, MS OFFICE)
Assist in / or monitor the daily IRD operation and if required in Private Bar Operations
To be in charge of a shift and handle the order taking and if required to help the floor operations including Private Bar and Amenity
To ensure standards of service are maintained and consistent and to be fully conversant with all menus and menu items.
Take proper handover of every shift and highlight all the important information to the staff in the shirt
To be fully accustomed with the IRD Amenity process and coordinate the daily amenity work flow and create the necessary amenity reports
To manage guest complaint with the necessary decision or action in order to recover them while addressing the situation to higher management
Ensure hand over of the shifts are done properly so that the guests will have a flawless service without interruption of any kind.
To train and to develop junior staff when joining the outlets and monitor their progress
To have perfect food and beverage knowledge
To ensure guest satisfaction for all orders and any guest concerns are handled and highlighted
To have a good knowledge of the Food and Beverage Menu
To execute proper coordination and communication with the chef to ensure timely food preparation and delivery
To ensure all VIP in-house guest is highlighted with the team
To assist in other Food and Beverage areas when requested to do so, as business volumes require.
To maintain the Departmental Dry store and General store item inventory and maintain the PAR by ordering in a timely manner.
To be available to cover extended Shifts as requested by the Restaurant Manager.

Assist the department to upkeep relevant notice boards.
Prepare related paperwork
Requires knowledge and the ability to operate computer equipment including word processing and spreadsheet software plus other systems (i.e. Opera, Windows, Bayan payroll and analysis reports etc).
Accept responsibility for the health safety and welfare of all areas of the department, guests and employees and to respond properly in any hotel emergency situation.
To ensure you read the hotel's employee handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
Undertake other duties and responsibilities which, while outside the normal routine, will be within the overall scope of the position.
Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform / attire and name badge.
To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department personal appearance standards.
Maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments through working by The Golden Rule.
Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
Be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments / areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the hotel management.
